Water Main Break Diverts Main Street Traffic

Break occurred in front of Whole Foods.

A water main break is affecting traffic on Main Street in Madison, and residents in the area might lose water pressure while emergency repairs are made, police said Friday afternoon.

The break occurred in front of Whole Foods and traffic was being detoured onto Station Road, according to borough police.

"The Madison Water Department is presently working at 222 Main Street, area of Samson Avenue, on a water main break," Madison police said in an alert. "This area of Main Street is currently closed to traffic. Residents in the area may experience no or low water pressure while emergency repairs are being made."
