Vandalized Home Under Construction Flooded

Shower was left running and flexible ducts were ripped from the ceiling, police said.

A home under construction on Hamilton Street was reported vandalized last week and Madison police are asking anyone with information about what happened to contact them.

Patrolman Anthony Maccarrio responded to the home around 7:30 a.m. last Tuesday on a report of criminal mischief and a contractor there said someone entered the home and turned on a shower head, flooding the basement with about a foot of water, Det. Kenneth Shannon said in a news release. Flexible ducts also were ripped from the ceiling and left hanging, he said.

The Madison Police Bureau of Investigations is investigating. Police ask anyone with information to call the department at 973-593-3000.
