Toy Drop-Off Saturday at Madison Police Department

Police are collecting new, unwrapped presents for annual Toys for Tots drive.

The Madison Police Department / PBA No. 92 will host a Toy Drop-Off Drive-Through in the rear of the Public Safety Building from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Hot chocolate, candy canes and coffee will be provided.

Donations of new, unwrapped toys also are accepted any time in the Madison Public Safety Building lobby.

The Madison Police Department, in cooperation with the United States Marine Corps, is partnering with the Toys for Tots program this Christmas.

The program distributes donated toys to needy children in the Madison collection area. Madison Police Officer Sean McCarthy, a former lance corporal in the United States Marine Corps and a current Master at Arms 3rd Class in the United States Navy, founded the Madison Police Toys for Tots campaign in 2009 with fellow Madison Police Officer Alan Imperiale, who currently works for the New Jersey Transit Police in Newark. McCarthy is the program coordinator.
