Three Arrests for Alleged DWI on Police Blotter

Route 24 traffic stops lead to other charges.

The old saying, "Nothing good happens after 10 p.m." could apply to an array of alleged wrongdoing that fills the blotter this week.

On April 18 at 1:23 a.m., Sgt. Peter Iossa arrested 36-year-old Melania Kenner of Morris Plains and charged her with driving under the influence. Iossa initially stopped Kenner on Route 24 for a speeding violation, alleging she was traveling 81 miles per hour in a 65-miles-per-hour zone. He also determined that she was allegedly operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Kenner was transported to headquarters for processing released to a friend pending a mandatory court appearance.

On April 16 at 3:23 a.m., Iossa arrested Mary Salmon, 48, of Port Reading, and charged her with driving under the influence. Iossa initially stopped Salmon on Route 24 for failing to maintain a lane. He determined that she was allegedly operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She was transported to headquarters for processing and released to friend pending a mandatory court appearance. Salmon was also issued a summons for careless driving.

On April 17 at approximately 2:10 a.m., Ptl. Chad Rybka arrested Taylor Hogarth, 25, of Westfield and charged him with driving while under the influence. Rybka initially stopped Hogarth on Route 24 for a speeding violation, he was allegedly traveling 93 miles per hour in a 65-miles-per-hour zone. He determined that he was allegedly operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Hogarth was transported to headquarters for processing and released to a friend pending a mandatory court appearance. Hogarth was also issued a summons for speeding.
