Three Arrested on Drug, Alcohol Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by the Madison Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Three men are facing drug, alcohol and other charges following a borough traffic stop.

The stop, by Ptl. James Cavezza on Feb. 2 at 8:25 p.m. at Main Street near Rosedale Ave., resulted in the arrests of 18-year-old Michelle Paterno of Califon N.J. and 18-year-old Matthew Afon of the Bronx, N.Y. He charged them both with possession of drug paraphernalia. Cavezza also charged 19-year-old Ian O’Conner of Westbury, N.Y. with underage possession of alcohol and possession of a fraudulent New Jersey driver’s license allegedly used to purchase alcohol. Cavezza while on patrol in the parking lot of 306 Main St. observed O’Conner exit . Police said O'Conner appeared to be under the age of 21, and a field investigation by Cavezza while on the motor vehicle stop determined that he was 18 year and had a fraudulent license in his possession. The three were transported to headquarters for processing and released pending a mandatory court appearance. Ptl. Paul Papamarkos assisted with the arrest.
