SUV Stolen in Madison Recovered in Newark, Cops Say

Many high-end cars have been stolen in the area, police said.

An Infiniti SUV that was stolen from a Green Village Road driveway in June was recovered in Essex County, police said this week.

Madison police were "able to recover the vehicle in a timely manner in Newark," Detective Kenneth Shannon said.

The SUV was stolen overnight and a resident noticed it was gone the morning of June 13.

"This vehicle is one of many high end vehicles stolen throughout this area of NJ," Shannon said in a news release Tuesday. "Residents are urged to remove the key fob from the vehicle prior to leaving the vehicle unattended. If the key fob is left inside of the vehicle, thieves can gain entry and drive away with the vehicle without any effort."
