Madison police urge residents to secure cars, report suspicious activity after thefts in borough and surrounding towns.

Madison police are urging residents to secure their cars and report any suspicious activity after an SUV was stolen from a Green Village Road driveway last week and "numerous" other auto thefts were reported in surrounding towns.

Police sent an alert Wednesday morning about the thefts and asked people to vigilant:

Madison & surrounding towns are experiencing NUMEROUS auto thefts. Ensure vehicles are SECURE. Call MPD to report ANY suspicious activity.

Madison Police Lt. Dennis Lam said an Infiniti SUV was reported stolen from a Green Village Road driveway Thursday morning and police are investigating.

Lam said residents should lock their vehicles and be sure not to leave remote start key fobs in their cars.
