After another string of car-related crimes, Madison residents are wondering what it will take to ensure the borough's reputation for safe streets, a climate akin to a bygone era where residents not only leave their cars parked outside and unlocked overnight, but their front doors as well.

The deteriorating condition of the economy over the past several years has led to an increase in auto-related crime such as break-ins and of vehicles. With its quiet neighborhoods and easy access to major highways, thieves are increasingly targeting the Rose City.
