Missing Teen Found Downtown

Phone call to police led them to find the 16-year-old female.

The Madison Police Department says a 16-year-old female who was reported missing Thursday morning has been found and is back with her family.

Lt. Darren Dachisen said that a resident called in with information about the whereabouts of the teenager, who was found downtown.

Dachisen also said that other towns were involved in the search, and that the K9 unit was utilized, as well. Public works was also on the lookout for the girl.

Police say it appears the girl left home without her parents' permission after a disagreement.

The department issued an alert via Nixle at 10:23 a.m. on Thursday saying police were searching for a 16-year-old Asian female, who was 5-foot-4 and 150 pounds. The alert also said she was wearing a green T-shirt and shorts and that she was last seen on foot in the area of Page Street/Elm Street and Park Avenue.

Police had asked anyone with information to call the department, which ended up leading them to the teenager.
