Police Make Warrant, Trespassing Arrests

Madison woman, 47, arrested on borough warrant; Chatham man, 19, charged with defiant trespassing at Loantaka Way address.

A 47-year-old Madison woman was arrested on a $1,098 warrant for failure to appear in Madison court after borough police were notified she was in custody in Essex County, authorities said.

Davitta Johnson was arrested by Madison Patrolman James Cavezza at 2:45 p.m. on June 21 after Cavezza was contacted by officials from the Essex County jail, where she was in custody, according to a news release.

Johnson was processed at Madison police headquarters and taken to the Morris County jail in lieu of bail, police said.

Trespassing charged

A 19-year-old Chatham man was arrested at 5:47 p.m. Sunday and charged with trespassing on property on Loantaka Way, police said.

Clifford Gaschler was arrested by Patrolman Matt Mirabella, who was called to 30 Loantaka Way on a trespassing complaint and arrested Gaschler after an investigation, police said.

Gaschler was taken to police headquarters and released pending a court appearance, according to police.
