Police: Madison Woman Crashes, Charged With DUI

Only two arrests in Rose City last week.

A Madison woman was charged with DUI last week following an accident at the intersection of Loantaka Way and Glenwild Road, Madison Police said.

Ptl. Anthony Maccario of the arrested Carolyn Ward, 27, and charged her with driving under the influence on March 14.

Maccario responded to a minor car accident at the intersection of Loantaka Way and Glenwild Road. He determined that Ward was operating her vehicle allegedly under the influence of alcohol. She was taken to headquarters for processing and released to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance. Sgt. Peter Iossa assisted with the investigation and arrest.

Late on the morning of March 15, Ptl. James Cavezza arrested Catherine Organes, 19, of Hoboken, on the strength of an active arrest warrant issued by Madison Municipal Court for failure to appear.

Cavezza was contacted by the Ocean County Correctional Facility, which had Organes in custody. She was transported to headquarters for processing and later taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail, pending a mandatory court appearance.
