Police: Chatham Man Found With Heroin in Madison Traffic Stop

A Chatham man was found with heroin and drug paraphernalia after going through a stop sign in Madison, police said.

Gregory Budd, 30, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe and possession of drug paraphernalia. He also received motor vehicle summonses for failure to stop at a stop sign, a no turn on red violation and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.

According to Madison Police, officers Christopher Williams and Sgt. Sean Plumstead pulled over Budd when they saw the moving violations at about 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 18.

Plumstead observed contraband in plain view and Budd was found in possession of suspected heroin and various drug paraphernalia items, police said.

Budd was processed and released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.
