Police Charge Nutley Woman With DUI After Main St. Stop

Ptl. Chad Rybka on Jan. 22 at 11:30 p.m. arrested 50-year-old Michelle Rasp of Nutley and charged her with driving under the influence. Rybka initially stopped Rasp for crossing a double yellow line on Main Street near Green Village Road. He determined that she was allegedly operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Rasp was taken to headquarters for processing and released to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance. Rasp was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to maintain a lane.

On Jan. 20 police received a report of a stolen car from the Buckingham Drive area. The four-day, gray 2012 Audi, which was unlocked at the time, was allegedly stolen from the owner’s driveway. Det. Kosakowski is investigating the incident.

Police are asking residents to keep their vehicles locked when parked in their driveway overnight, and to call police at 973-593-3000 or 911 if they hear or see any suspicious person or vehicle in their neighborhood. Police welcome the call anytime of the day or night, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The police, , and responded to nine medical emergencies. The police investigated 11 motor vehicle crashes during the week.
