Boro Man, 2 Others Charged With DUI

The following arrest information was supplied by the Madison Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

A trio of drunk-driving arrests leads the blotter for the week that was in Madison.

On Aug. 14 at 7:03 a.m., Ptl. Chris Keller arrested 27-year-old Luis Garcia–Belleza of Elizabeth on the strength of a traffic arrest warrant issued by in the amount of $500 dollars. Keller was contacted by the Roselle Park Police Department who had Garcia in custody. He was processed at police headquarters and released after posting bail pending a mandatory court appearance.
   
On Aug. 9 at 11:39 p.m., Ptl. Paul Papamarkos arrested Keith Penhollow, 45, of Madison and charged him with driving under the influence. Papamarkos initially stopped Penhollow on Elmer Street for speeding and determined that he was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Penhollow was taken to headquarters for processing and released to a friend pending a mandatory court appearance. Penhollow was also issued a motor vehicle summons for reckless driving.

On Aug. 7 at approximately 2:52 p.m., Sgt. Peter Iossa arrested 46-year-old Weanona Hugie of Edison and charged her with driving under the influence. Iossa initially stopped Hugie on Route 24 for failure to maintain a lane, and determined that she was operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Hugie was transported to headquarters for processing and released to a friend pending a mandatory court appearance. Hugie was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to maintain a lane.

On Aug. 6 at 2:40 a.m. Patrolman Chad Rybka arrested Joseph Vazzano, 27, of Morristown and charged him with driving under the influence. Rybka initially stopped Vazzano on Route 24 for driving without headlights. He determined that he was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Vazzano was taken to headquarters for processing and released to friend pending a mandatory court appearance. Vazzano was also issued a motor vehicle summons for operating a vehicle without headlights.

The Madison Police Department, , and responded to 12 medical emergencies during the week. Police investigated four motor vehicle crashes during the week.
