Police Blotter: Two Groups of People Receive Drug Charges

Two of three groups of arrests from past week involved drug charges.

The Madison Police Department and Volunteer Corps responded to 21 medical emergencies during the past week.

The police department investigated eight motor vehicle crashes during the same period.

On Jan. 12, police arrested Brian Sweitzer, 22, and Michael Sweitzer, 20, both of Monson, Mass., and a 16-year-old juvenile and charged them with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police initially stopped Michael Sweitzer for a motor vehicle violation. It was then determined they three were in possession of narcotics. They were transported to headquarters for processing. After processing the juvenile was released to his parents. Brian and Michael Sweitzer were released pending a court appearance. Michael Sweitzer was issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving.

On Jan. 13, police arrested David Mackowski, 41, of Washington, and James Rozakis, 35, of Hackettstown, and charged them with possession of heroin and of drug paraphernalia.  Police initially stopped Mackowski for a motor vehicle violation. It was determined they were in possession of narcotics and they were transported to headquarters for processing. After processing they were placed in the Morris County Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail. Malkowski was issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seatbelt.

On Jan. 16, police arrested Henao-Ramirez Diego-Fabian, 33, of Madison for violation of a court order. Police initially stopped Ramirez for a motor vehicle violation. Police ran a computer check on his driver license and name and he was alerted that Ramirez had an outstanding warrant. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Ramirez was issued motor vehicle summons for driving while using a cell phone, and operating a vehicle with no insurance.
