Police Blotter: Traffic Stop Leads to Shoplifting Arrest

Short Hills resident also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

On June 3, police arrested Kathleen Roche, 28 of Short Hills, and charged her with possession of paraphernalia and shoplifting. Police initially stopped Roche for a motor vehicle violation. It was determined that she was in possession of drug paraphernalia and store items she had just shoplifted. A computer check on her name also showed that she was wanted on a criminal warrant by the Florham Park Municipal Court. She was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing she was released to the authorities of Florham Park in lieu of $10,000 bail.

On June 2, police arrested Damina- Cacchio-Burton, 20 of Orange, and charged him with simple assault. Police were called to the area of Main Street and Greenvillage Road on a report of a disturbance. It was determined that Damina- Cacchio had committed a simple assault on a female friend, by grabbing her arm. He was transported to police headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a mandatory court appearance.

On June 4, police arrested Anthony McDonald, 46 of North Wales, Pa., on the strength of a $275 warrant. Police ran a computer check on McDonald's name and were alerted he was wanted on the authority of three warrants. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released on bail pending mandatory court appearances in Howell Township Municipal Court, Bordentown Municipal Court, and East Windsor Municipal Court. All Warrants were for motor vehicle traffic violations.

On June 5, police arrested Bryan Moreno, 18 of Morristown, and charged him with driving under the influence. Police initially stopped Moreno for a motor vehicle violation. It was determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a friend pending a mandatory court appearance. Moreno was also issued a motor vehicle summons for speeding.

The Madison Police Department and Volunteer Corps responded to 13 medical emergencies during the past week. The Madison Police Department investigated 11 vehicle crashes during the same period.
