Police Blotter: Shoplifting Arrest Made After Man Put Bottles in Pants

Berkley Heights resident was at a Main Street liquor store.

On March 6, police arrested Michael Arminio, 28 of Berkley Heights, and charged him with shoplifting. Police responded to a store on Main Street after store employees observed Arminio placing liquor bottles inside his pants. Police determined Arminio was shoplifting. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was release pending a court appearance.

On March 3, police arrested Jeremy Worrall, 23 of Sicklerville, and charged him with possession of a schedule 1 narcotic, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police initially stopped Worrall for driving while using a cell phone. He determined Worrall was in possession of narcotics. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a court appearance. Worrall was also issued a motor vehicle summons for driving while using a cell phone.

On March 3, police arrested Allison Hooghuis, 19 of Metuchen, and Lisa Pridgen, 18 of Stanhope. Police charged charged Hooghuis with being under the influence of alcohol under the age of 21. Pridgen was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within school property, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of alcohol while under the legal age. Police initially stopped them for acting suspicious in a parking lot. They were both transported to headquarters for processing. After processing they were both released pending a court appearance.

On March 4, police arrested Pedro Calderon, 20 of Morristown, and charged him with theft of jewelry items from a residential home. Calderon was located at the residence. Police determined he had taken the jewelry from the home while working there. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After Processing he was taken to the Morris County Correctional facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.

On March 5, police arrested Robb Moritz , 39 of Morris Township, and charged him with simple assault and criminal mischief. Police were initially called to an apartment building by a resident who reported Moritz kicked and broke her door. He determined that Moritz was responsible for the damage. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing, he was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail. He was also charged with simple assault.

On March 5, police arrested George Cole, 20 of Belmar, on the strength of a $369 traffic warrant. Police initially stopped Cole for speeding, and then ran a computer check on his driver's license and was alerted that there was an active warrant. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a court appearance. He was also issued motor vehicle summons for speeding and driving with a suspended license.

On March 5, police arrested Brendan Skeehan, 19 of Clarksburg, and charged him with possession of schedule 1 narcotics, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police responded to Drew University to assist Drew Public Safety officers who located the narcotics in Skeehan's dorm room. Police determined he was in possession of the narcotics. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After Processing he was released pending a court appearance.

On March 6, police arrested Michael Thompson, 24 of Madison, and charged him with simple assault. Police were initially called to the residence when the victim walked into police headquarters to report he was struck with a chair by Thompson. Police determined that Thompson did assault the victim with the chair. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After Processing he was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 bail.

On March 6, police arrested Jon Matkowski, 20 of Madison, and charged him with driving while under the influence. Police initially stopped Matkowski for disregarding a red traffic signal. It determined that he was under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a family member. He was also issued motor vehicle summons for speeding, driving while using a cell phone, and careless driving.

On March 7, police arrested Robert Griese, 50 of Madison, and charged him with driving while under the influence. Police initially stopped Griese for disregarding a red traffic signal. It was determined that Griese was under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a friend. He was also issued motor vehicle summons for disregarding a red traffic signal and careless driving.

On March 8, police arrested Oscar Achola, 35 of East Stroudsburg, Pa., and charged him with driving while under the influence. Police initially stopped Achola for failure to maintain a lane. It was determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a friend. He was also issued motor vehicle summons for careless driving and failure to maintain a lane.
