Police Blotter: Motor Vehicle Violation Leads to Drug Arrest

Police also make trespassing arrest at Drew.

On Jan. 28, police arrested Paul Nollettim, 21 of White Plains, N.Y., and Daniel Smith, 19 of Rochelle, N.Y., and charged them with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police initially stopped Nolletti for a motor vehicle violation. It was then determined they were in possession of narcotics. They were both transported to headquarters for processing. After processing they were released pending a court appearance. Nolletti was issued a motor vehicle summons for a loud muffler.

On Jan. 30, police arrested Michael Pirozzi III, 24 of Madison, and charged him with driving while under the influence. Police initially stopped Pirozzi for a motor vehicle violation. It was determined he was under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a friend pending a court appearance. He was issued a summons for speeding and failure to exhibit a valid insurance card.

On Jan. 31, police arrested Augustus Gatto, 21 of Madison, and charged him with defiant trespassing on the property of Drew University. Gatto was initially stopped by Drew Public Safety officers and they determined that he was issued a previous trespassing warning. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a court appearance.

On Jan. 31, police arrested Craig  Farawell, 24 of Carteret, on the strength of a  $250 traffic warrant. Police ran a computer check on the vehicle Farawell was driving and were alerted that he had an outstanding traffic warrant. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After Processing he was released pending a court appearance.

The Madison Police Department and Volunteer Corps responded to 22 medical emergencies during the week. The department also investigated 14 motor vehicle crashes during the same period.
