Police Blotter: Man Arrested in Dunkin' Donuts Theft

The Madison Police Department and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to approximately 17 medical emergencies during the past week. The Madison Police Department also investigated 12  motor vehicle crashes during the week.

On Nov. 28, police arrested Lorenzo Williams, 20 of East Orange, for theft of $300 from Dunkin Donuts, where he was employed. Police were called to Dunkin' Donuts by the store manager and, after conducting an investigation, placed Williams under arrest and transported him to headquarters. After being processed Williams was released pending his court appearance.

On Nov. 27, police arrested Alcione Dasilva, of Newark, on the strength of a $358 Montclair warrant. Police ran a computer check and after stopping Dasilva, were alerted to the outstanding warrant and the fact that Dasilva’s drivers license was suspended. Dasilva was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing.  After posting bail, Dasilva was released pending a court appearance.

On Nov. 28, police arrested David Barry, 19 of Madison, and charged him with driving while intoxicated. Barry was initially stopped by for driving while using a cell phone. Police detected that Barry was under the influence of alcohol while driving. Barry was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing where he was later released to a family member pending his court appearance. Barry was also issued a summons for driving while using a cell phone.

On Nov. 27, police arrested Theresa O’Reilly, 18 of Green Village, and Katherine d’Esterhazy, of Harding. Both were charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police observed an occupied vehicle in a parking lot on Sayre Court. As police made contact with the  occupants of the vehicle, an odor of burnt marijuana was detected. After a brief investigation, both O'Reilly and d'Esterhazy were arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. d’Esterhazy was also charged with underage possession of alcohol. After processing they were both released pending their court appearance.

UPDATE: d'Esterhazy on March 17, 2010 pleaded guilty to a nuisance charge before Judge Gary Troxell and not guilty to the other charges, which were dismissed. She was ordered to pay a fine of $836, $33 in court costs, and perform 15 days of community service.

On Nov. 29 , police arrested Brain Rawding, 19 of Morristown, and charged him with driving while under the influence. Police had stopped Rawding for a motor vehicle equipment violation. After interaction with the driver, police detected the smell of marijuana. Rawding was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a family member pending his court appearance.
