Police Blotter: DUI Arrest Made After Woman Struck Bridge Barrier

Incident witnessed at intersection of Prospect Street and Kings Road.

On April 12, police arrested Misty Koons, 37 of Florham Park, and charged her with driving under the influence. Police witnessed Koons make a left turn and strike a bridge barrier at Prospect Street and Kings Road. It was determined she was driving while under the influence of alcohol. She was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing she was released pending a mandatory court appearance. Koons was also issued motor vehicle summons for failure to wear a seat belt and careless driving.

On April 14, police arrested Declan McDougall, 18 of Florham Park, and charged him him with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police initially stopped McDougall for being in a public park after sunset. He determined he was in possession of narcotics. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a court appearance.

On April 16, police arrested Ely Toledo, 35 of Newark, on the strength of a $100 traffic warrant. Police initially stopped Teledo for a motor vehicle violation. A computer check was run on her driver's license and alerted police that there was an outstanding warrant for her. She was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing she was released pending a court appearance in Newark municipal court. Teldo was also issued a motor vehicle summons for maintenance of lamps.

On April 17, police Paul Kosakowski arrested Scott Cuskaden, 38 of Morristown, on the Strength of a $1,500 warrant issued by West Orange Municipal court. Police initially stopped Cuskaden while walking in the Cook Plaza parking lot area. A computer check was run on his name and police were alerted there was an outstanding warrant for him. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released pending a court appearance.

The Madison Police Department and Volunteer Corps responded to 24 medical emergencies during last week. The department also investigated eight motor vehicle crashes during the week.
