Police Blotter: Arrest Warrants Nab Two

Third arrest last week was for driving under the influence.

On July 21, police arrested John Fusi III, 54 of Madison, and charged him with driving under the influence. Police initially stopped Fusi for a motor vehicle violation. It was determined that Fusi was operating his vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was released to a family member pending a mandatory court appearance. Fusi was also issued a motor vehicle summons for careless driving and failure to produce a valid insurance card.

On July 23, police arrested Jason Edwards, 30 of Madison, on the strength of arrest warrants issued by Madison Municipal Court, Newark Municipal Court, and Denville Municipal Court. He was transported to headquarters for processing. After processing he was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of Bail pending a mandatory court appearance.

On July 24, police arrested Damian Cacchio Burton, 20 of Orange, on the strength of arrest warrants issued by Madison Municipal Court for failure to appear for a court hearing and failure to pay fines. Police were notified by the Morris Township Police Department, who had Burton in custody. After processing, Burton was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu bail pending a mandatory court appearance.

The Madison Police Department, Fire Department and Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to approximately 16 medical emergencies during last week. The police department investigated 10 motor vehicle crashes during the week.
