Police Ask Residents for Info on Two Borough Thefts

Pomeroy Road, East Lane burglaries happened early Monday; Car and pocket book were found at Orange/West Orange boarder.

The Madison Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding two recent burglaries to contact them.

The department sent out an alert Wednesday morning, describing two thefts that occurred Monday during the early morning.

The report said a Pomeroy Road resident reported their 2004 BMW had been stolen. Police determined the thieves entered the residence through an open garage door and took various items and the keys to the vehicle.

The report also said an East Lane resident discovered a damaged screen where entry was made through an open window through their residence. Once inside the residence, the perpetrator took a pocket book and cash.

The alert said both the vehicle and pocketbook have been recovered on the Orange/West Orange boarder. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Paul Kosakowski at 973-593-3007

Both residences were occupied at the time of the burglaries, and police are asking residents to lock their doors, windows and vehicles.

They are also asking residents to report suspicious activity to the department via 911 or 973-593-3000.
