Out-of-Towners Busted for Alleged Drug Possession

Newark men face marijuana, other charges.

A motor vehicle stop last week led to charge three men with alleged drug possession.

On Feb. 3 at approximately 11:43 p.m., Patrolman Craig Perrelli arrested Andres Ramierz, 20, and Edgar Ramierz, 20, both of Newark N.J., and Nicholas Santos, 18, of Kearny N.J. He charged them with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Perrelli initially stopped Edgar Ramierz for a motor vehicle violation on Main Street near Samson Avenue. He determined that marijuana had been smoked inside the vehicle.

The three were transported to headquarters for processing. After processing, Andres Ramirez was taken to the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $7,500 bail. He was also charged with possession of Xanax without a prescription. Edgar Ramirez and Santos were processed and released pending a mandatory court appearance. Edgar Ramirez was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to maintain lamps on a vehicle.
