New York Woman Faces DWI, Pot Charges

charged a Staten Island woman with a number of alcohol- and drug-related charges following a traffic stop last week.

On Friday at 2:56 a.m., Sgt. Peter Iossa arrested Toniann Perosi, 23, of Staten Island. He charged her with possession of marijuana, driving under the influence, and refusal to submit to a breath test. Iossa initially stopped Perosi for speeding on Route 24 and determined that she was allegedly operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

She was transported to headquarters for processing, during which marijuana was allegedly discovered in her possession, police said. Perosi also refused to take a breath test, police said. After processing, she was released pending a mandatory court appearance, and was issued summonses for speeding and refusal to take a breath test.
