A 23-year-old Madison woman allegedly refused to pay a cab fare and then resisted arrest when an officer tried to arrest her for the offense, borough police said.
Breanne Palmieri was arrested by Patrolman Matthew Mirabella at about 2 p.m. Sept. 28, Madison police Detective Ken Shannon said in a news release.
Police were called about Palmieri not paying the fare, and, when Mirabella made contact with Palmieri, she was aggressive and continued to refuse to pay, police said.
Mirabella attempted to arrest her for the violation, and she allegedly began resisting arrest, police said. Palmieri was charged with theft of services and resisting arrest, according to police. She was released pending a court appearance.
