Police ID woman from Tuesday's single-car accident.

Police have identified the woman killed in Tuesday's single-car crash on South Street in Morris Township as Catharine Helck of Madison.

Helck, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which took place at around 11 a.m. Tuesday, police said. Her vehicle had struck a tree.

No other vehicle was found damaged at the scene, but police said Tuesday the occupants of two other vehicles in the area may have witnessed the crash.

Helck, who lived on Central Avenue, is survived by her husband, Christopher, and her young daughter and son.

Capt. Rich Ferrone said Tuesday the cause of the accident is still under investigation, "but it doesn't appear that the driver lost control. Some event caused the driver to drive through the intersection." Ferrone also said there wasn't any other damage at the scene other than the vehicle.
