Kudos to MFD for Cat Rescue
Madison firefighters revived feline found unconscious in house fire.
Madison Patch recently reported news of a cat rescue from a local house fire. We at heard the fire trucks go by the practice that day, but were put into 'professional mode' when we received a phone call from the saying that they had rescued an animal, and were bringing it in.
Soon, two firemen in full garb were in our treatment room, smelling of smoke and cradling a gray cat in their arms. They had rescued her from the basement of the burning house. All the way to our hospital, the firemen had been administering oxygen through a special face mask made for cats, and she had gone from being unconscious, to starting to revive. They expressed such concern and gentleness, and through their efforts made it possible to help these traumatized owners save their beloved cat. She went on to a special clinic for intensive care, and soon was home again.
Our entire staff was so heartened to know that she had done well, and we congratulate and thank the Madison Fire Department for their rescue!
