French Wines Will Pour to Support Ambulance Corps
All-volunteer squad hosting "An Evening in Paris" on Saturday.
A taste of France is coming to Madison this weekend for a fundraiser to support the .
The all-volunteer squad, which doesn't bill patients and is supported by community donations and fundraisers, is hosting at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Corps' headquarters, 29 Prospect Street.
Billed as a night of French wines and foods, the wine tasting will feature a tricky tray and "blind taste challenge," according to an announcement for the event.

The Corps has more than 50 certified emergency medical technicians who volunteer their time so the squad can respond to emergencies at a moment's notice, said Paul Rogers, corps vice president .
Founded in 1954, the nonprofit is not part of the municipal government and its members are not compensated in any way. Its 2012 budget is over $175,000, and includes operating costs, such as fuel, medical supplies and oxygen, training and communication costs, incurance and capital improvement projects, Rogers said.

Tickets for the wine tasting are $45 each, or $400 for 10. Tickets also can be purchased at the door for $50.
