A Florham Park woman was allegedly drunk when she ignored a road closure and nearly struck an off-duty cop, Madison Police said.
Devin Kenney, 41, drove around a road closure in the area of Park and Ridgedale avenues on Oct. 31 at about 10:30 p.m., according to a report released by Acting Chief Darren Dachisen.
Off-duty Patrolman Carmine DeCaro was also nearly struck by Kenney's vehicle, the report said. DeCaro was adjusting barrels that were in place to close off a portion of Park Avenue due to downed trees and power lines, the report said.
After DeCaro detected the smell of alcohol emanating from Kenney, Patrolman Kevin Boone responded to the scene to perform field sobriety tests, the report said.
Kenney was arrested and charged with DWI and released to the custody of her mother, pending a court appearance.
