McCarthy responded to the university after receiving a call about the drugs from the public safety officer who originally investigated the noise complaint at Eberhardt Hall and determined he allegedly had the narcotics, police said.

Dennis was processed at police headquarters and released pending a court appearance, according to police. Sgt. John Miscia assisted with the arrest.
