Drew Closes Campus for Hurricane Sandy

University cancels classes and events from 1 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday.

Drew University in Madison has announced it is closing its campus from 1 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday out of safety concerns from Hurricane Sandy.

In a notice on its website, the university said students who live in the area should leave for home by 1 p.m. Sunday and bring a friend if they are able. For students who need to stay on campus, the school will provide shelter and regular meals, but undergraduates will not be able to stay in their regular dorm rooms because of staffing and security concerns, the notice said.

Students who stay will be moved to the Ehinger Center.

Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey patrons with tickets to "Man of La Mancha" should contact the theatre box office directly at 973-408-5600 to see if their performance will be held as scheduled, it says.
