A section of Park Avenue was closed for about two hours on Wednesday evening after a power line fell across the road near Punchbowl Road.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area by a Madison Police Nixle alert sent at 5 p.m.
The road reopened around 7 p.m. after Jersey Central Power & Light responded to clear the line.

The road was closed between Delaware Road and Chateau Thierry Avenue, according to Florham Park police, and traffic was being detoured.
