Cops Make Arrest in Ink Cartridge Caper

Brooklyn man charged with resisting arrest, shoplifting after he allegedly was found with seven color cartridges, police said.

A 24-year-old Brooklyn man is facing charges of eluding arrest, resisting arrest and shoplifting after he allegedly ran from Madison police investigating a report of shoplifting from the Staples office supply store on Main Street and was found with seven laser printer color cartridges, authorities said.

Daquan Dollar was arrested at 6:27 p.m. on Thursday by Patrolman James Cavezza, according to a news release. Cavezza was investigating a shoplifting complaint at Staples and approached Dollar on foot, police said. The defendant allegedly ran, and Cavezza caught up to him on Main Street and took him into custody, police said.

Dollar was processed at police headquarters and taken to the Morris County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, police said.
