Burning Odor Tied to Roof Work

Madison police and fire officials responded to Waverly Place on Tuesday.

Repair work being done on a Waverly Place roof caused a burning odor that was reported to the Madison Police and Fire departments Tuesday morning.

Emergency officials responded and checked to be sure there was no fire, Fire Chief Lou DeRosa said.

DeRosa said the smell blew through vents to a nearby business, which reported the odor.
