Bar Patron Refused to Leave, Threatened Employee With Box Cutter, Police Say
Madison resident arrested on weapon, harassment charges following incident at 54 Main Bar and Grille.
A 45-year-old Madison resident allegedly refused to leave a Main Street bar, took out a box cutter, and threatened a bar employee, borough police said.
Manish Jariwala was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Dec. 18 by Patrolman Vincent Dellavalle, Detective Kenneth Shannon said in a news release.
When police responded to 54 Main Bar and Grille on a report of an intoxicated patron who refused to leave, Jariwala allegedly pulled out a box cutter and threatened one of the bar employees, the news release said.
Dellavalle subdued Jariwala with the assistance of other officers, and Jariwala was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and harassment, according to police. Jariwala was taken to the Morris County jail in lieu of $7,500 bail.
