Alcohol, Drug Charges on Blotter

Three run afoul of borough law enforcement.

Alcohol, drug and active warrant arrests are featured in the weekly report from the .

On May 7 at 3:07 a.m., Sgt. Peter Iossa arrested 42-year-old Linda Sullivan of Dover and charged her with driving under the influence. Iossa initially stopped Sullivan for failure to maintain a lane on Route 24. He determined that she was allegedly operating her vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Sullivan was transported to headquarters for processing and released pending a mandatory court appearance. She was also issued a summons for failure to maintain a lane. 

On May 6 at 2:56 p.m., Ptl. James Cavezza arrested Evan Rubin, 23, of Madison on the strength of a $200 traffic warrant issued by Florham Park Municipal Court. Cavezza initially stopped Rubin on Main Street for a loud muffler. He ran a computer check and was alerted that there was an active arrest warrant. Rubin was transported to headquarters for processing and released after posting bail. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for a loud exhaust.

On May 5 at 10:57 p.m., Ptl. Sean Plumstead arrested 19-year-old Mitchel Magee of East Hanover and charged him with possession of a Schedule IV narcotic and possession of drug paraphernalia. Plumstead initially stopped Magee for a stop sign violation on Madison Avenue. He determined that he was allegedly in possession of Xanax without a prescription. Magee was transported to headquarters for processing and released pending a mandatory court appearance. Magee was also issued a motor vehicle summons for disregard of a stop sign.

The police, , and responded to approximately 15 medical emergencies during the week.
