Thank You Dangler's Funeral Home

Our daughter Emma Rose was diagnosed shortly after birth with a rare epileptic disorder and she tragically passed on March 12 at the much too tender age of 74 days.  After Emma’s passing, our family contacted Dangler’s Funeral Home on Main Street in Madison to assist us with the unthinkable task of burying our baby.  We were so incredibly touched by the kindness that we were shown there, we feel compelled to tell our community about the experience.  Emma’s short life brought out such incredible acts of goodness from others, and the people at Dangler’s epitomized this for us.  From the moment we had to deal with our crushing blow, the people at Dangler’s, especially Chris Knoll, our funeral director, showed us tremendous compassion and care.  In the end, Dangler’s refused to accept any payment from us for the considerable costs incurred for funeral services and burial.  Even when we tried to pay a tip for all of the special attention and care we received on the sad day of Emma’s funeral, Chris told us that he could not accept any money from us and that instead we should make a donation in Emma’s name.  Chris Knoll never knew Emma or us before that day, but that did not matter.  Emma’s short but precious life has reminded us of the tenderness of the human spirit that we sometimes forget to notice.  Thank you Chris and Dangler’s.  We will never forget you and your genuine compassion during our desperate hours.
