Madison H.S. Softball Dominates Boonton

Dodgers take their record to 10-5.

The softball team improved its record to 10-5 with a convincing 9-1 win over visiting Boonton. Freshman pitcher Stephanie Deeb went the distance for Madison and was in complete control, giving up only four hits and one run.

Deeb was backed up with a number of nifty defensive plays in the field. Allise Bassolino picked up two assists and Tori Ellis flashed some nice leather at shortstop grabbing two liners off the bat of Margaret Earner.

Ellis was a significant contributor at the plate, too. She drove in three runs with a double and sacrifice fly.

Everyone in Madison’s lineup contributed to the offensive outburst and it seemed like Madison had base runners in every inning.

Leading the offensive onslaught was Jill Caruso with a home run, double and 3 runs scored.

Leadoff batter Nichole Iannarone, the diminutive catalyst of the Lady Dodgers, had an RBI, single and two runs scored.

Also making contributions on offense was Kelly Quinn who was 1-for-2, Izzy Kennedy who went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and Catherine Zimmerman who ran the bases like Forest Gump with a stolen base and her second triple of the year.
