Madison Junior School to Have 'Cheering Section' at NY Jets Game

PTO selling tickets to Dec. 1 game as fundraiser.

New York Jets cornerback Kyle Wilson recently cheered on Madison sixth-graders as they completed a five-week program promoting physical activity.

On Dec. 1, students can return the favor by cheering on Wilson and his teammates when they face the Miami Dolphins.

The Madison Junior School PTO is selling tickets for the school community to attend the Jets next home game, 1 p.m. Sunday at MetLife Stadium, as a fundraiser.

Three Madison students who participated in the Play 60 program were picked to help lead the team out of the tunnel the same game.

(Previous reports incorrectly said students were leading the team out of the tunnel this Sunday. The Jets play Baltimore on the road that day.)

Principal Nicole Sherrin said Madison Junior School is fortunate to partner with the American Heart Association and Play 60, and appreciates Kyle Wilson visiting the students.

The PTO fundraiser means there will be a "big cheering section" when the three students—Rafael Stankiewicz, Aine Maseker and Megan Cowan—lead the team out of the tunnel, she said.

The Play 60 program was developed by the American Heart Association and NFL to combat childhood obesity.
