Viral Infection Paralyzes Madison Resident From Neck Down

Fund established for Dave Cuozzo, a father of four and Union Township police officer for nearly 25 years.

A fund has been established to help a Madison resident who is recovering from a viral infection that has left him paralyzed from the neck down.

Dave Cuozzo, a husband and father of four who has been a Union Township police officer for nearly 25 years, contracted the virus in December and remains confined to a wheelchair.

The Friends of Officer Cuozzo has been established on YouCaring.com that has raised more than $7,000 toward a goal of $500,000 to help the Cuozzo family pay for medical expenses and accommodations at their home.

The family needs to do renovations to their home, a wheelchair-accessible van and home health aids to manage Cuozzo's care that are not covered by insurance.
