The shootings at Sandy Hook school in Connecticut have left many of us heartbroken and bereft. There are no words to describe our collective feelings of sorrow over such a senseless loss of life. We all feel helpless in the face of such tragedy.
There are, however, things we can do. First and foremost, of course, we can pray. And we can offer up our grief to God in worship. Our annual "Blue Christmas" service is a healing service specifically designed to allow God to transform our grief into the eternal hope that is ours through Jesus Christ.
We invite you all to attend our "Blue Christmas" service this Sunday and lift up the families and victims of those impacted by the school shooting.
May the Peace of Christ that is ours through Jesus Christ sustain us all this Advent season, as we look forward to Christ's return.
