Rockaway Democrat Looking to Break Up All-GOP Freeholder Board

Matt Davis will likely face Hank Lyon in November election.

Matt Davis, of Rockaway Township, says the all-GOP Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders has lost its base and is no longer being good stewards of the money and land it is charged to oversee.

According to nj.com, Davis, a Democrat running unopposed in the June 3 Primary Election, is gearing up for a battle this November. As the presumptive nominee, he’ll take on incumbent William “Hank” Lyon for a seat on the governing body in November. Lyon is running unopposed in June.

Our representative to the House in Washington in office 20 plus years, no Democrat on the Bd of Freeholders since the 1970's, high time we get some new blood and new perspective into our elected posts.

Freeholders fail to decide the tough issues on the side of middle income constituents, fail to improve mental health from its Greystone decisions, provide facilities and leadership, and ease the property tax burden on citizens and municipalities.
