Week in Review: New Beginnings

Reorganizations, groundbreaking highlight first full week of 2010.

Madison continued to get things set up for the new year. After Jan. 1's Borough Council reorganization meeting, the Planning Board had one of its own. There was also celebration over a groundbreaking that comes with a sign of new jobs in Madison.

On Monday, we told you about how "Monk" executive producer Andy Breckman, who lives in Madison and wrote from close-by, made references to the area in the show's final episode. We also told you about the latest H1N1 clinic being put on by the Madison Health Department. You also found out about some quality New Jersey wines.

On Tuesday, you found out about some great winter brews that you can purchase nearby. We also told you about the Morris County Indoor Track Relays, and the Madison High School ice hockey team upending West Morris.

On Wednesday, we told you about the groundbreaking at the Madison Professional Center where many high-profile elected officials came to celebrate with the Hampshire Companies and the borough. We also told you about the Madison High School boys and girls basketball teams' victories.

On Thursday, you were able to see who was re-appointed on the Planning Board, as well as who its new chair is. You were able to see how the Madison High School girls swim team had individuals improve on times at a meet held at Drew University. We also told you about the wrestling team's heartbreaking loss on criteria.

On Friday, you got a look at Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz, who is serving her first full term serving the district.
