Week in Review: Launch Week!

Madison Patch's first week just happened to be one of the most festive of the year in the Borough of Madison. And we were there to give you a look at what was going to be new this year, as well as give a glimpse at what the events looked like.

On Wednesday, we launched at 1:30 p.m. and told you about the Madison High School football team's great effort in the state semifinals. Though they fell to the No. 1 seed, the Dodgers would finish the season strong later in the week. We also showed you some talented students in the production of "You Can't Take it With You," Madison High School's Fall Drama. Finally, we gave you a look at what Madison Patch is and will be about in our introduction column and video.

Early in the day on Thanksgiving, we showed you five ways to cook a turkey and some additional recipes you might want to try. We also took a look at some of the deals Madison merchants were going to be giving on Black Friday and a great cause for which former Madison High School alumni and friends were raising money.

The Friday after Thanksgiving was, as usual, a busy day for Madison. We told you about the stellar victory the Dodgers football team turned in against rival Millburn the day before. We told you about the downtown events taking place throughout the day, as well as one of the main forces behind the parade and Christmas Village.

Saturday you got the chance to see who we caught on camera downtown during the parade. We also reported on the success of the Benjamin Robert Wieler Memorial Scholarship Soccer Tournament.

It's easy to say that even after its first short week, Madison Patch was able to see and reflect what makes the borough such a close and caring place.
