Week in Review: Fond Hellos and Goodbyes

New businesses and seasons, end of series and terms highlight week.

The second-to-last week in December was one for fond hellos and goodbyes.

On Monday, we talked to you about a new business in town, Mag Street Design Studios. Kath Shwiff also gave you an inside look at "Twelfth Night," which is currently playing at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey with some interesting set decor. We celebrated Hanukkah by discussing creative ways to make latkes.

On Tuesday, we gave you the run down from the Madison Borough Council meeting, which was the final one for councilman John Elias. We previewed the final roundtable reading at Playwrights Theatre for the year. You also were able to see the police blotter from the week before.

On Wednesday, we showed you video of assemblywoman Nancy Munoz and assemblyman Jon Bramnick handing out proclamations to Madison heroes. We also were there when the Madison High School hockey team dominated Morris Hills. We also told you about Akhil Mathew, who was a semifinalist for the Siemens Math, Science and Technology competition.

Thursday was high school sports preview day. We told you about the boys indoor track team and the girls indoor track team. We also previewed the wrestling squad's season.

On Friday, we finished the winter sports previews with stories on the boys and girls basketball teams. We also told you about how the Madison Department of Public Works was getting ready for this weekend's snow storm.
