Week in Review: Events Cause Smiles

Special Olympics bowling, Jets sendoff highlights.

Many Madison residents had smiles on their faces thanks to a couple of unique events this week.

On Monday, we told you about one of them that we had also highlighted over the weekend: the Jets sendoff to the AFC Championship game in Indianapolis. Although the Jets had their magical run end, you can see in our photos that people truly enjoyed sending Gang Green off. We also told you about what seeds the girls and boys basketball teams received for the upcoming Morris County Tournaments, with the undefeated boys receiving the No. 3 seed. We also showed you Cindy Loh's newest restaurant review from around the borough, this one on Poor Herbie's.

On Tuesday, we were able to give you a glimpse of the second event, as a group from Madison Public Schools were able to make a Special Olympics bowling event a great one. We also told you about how Fire Chief Doug Atchison was stepping down from the post and department, and will be replaced by long-time colleague and friend Lou DeRosa. You were also able to see how the borough council voted to contract a survey and design work for improvements to Lincoln Place.
