The Madison Community Garden has begun with overwhelming success. All 60 of the 10- by 20-foot plots have been subscribed. The soil was tilled and amended and water lines have been installed. A deer-proof fence has just been completed. While much work remains, most of the gardeners have already begun working their plots.

Madison Borough Council has provided funding for the development of the Garden, and most of the work has been done by volunteers. Planned improvements include a greenhouse and shed facility, as well as a raised bed for mobility-impaired gardeners.
