A Madison homeowner with property assessed at the borough average is expected to see a $39 increase in the municipal portion of their tax bill under a proposed municipal budget introduced Monday night. An even steeper hike for the local open space tax also is slated to take hold unless the governing body adjusts the formula used to calculate the tax.
