Shakespeare Theatre Schedule Set for "Sound of Laughter"

"Taming of the Shrew" and "All's Well That Ends Well" part of 2010 slate.

Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" and "All's Well That Ends Well" will be among the six Main Stage productions of the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's 2010 season.

The lineup has a strong emphasis on "love and hilarity," said artistic director Bonnie Monte, who will preside over her 20th year as head of the theater.

"I can think of no better way to celebrate my 20th anniversary than to serve up a season that will delight our audiences and fill the theatre with the sound of laughter," she added.

The season, which starts in June and runs through next January, also includes George Bernard Shaw's 1894 comedy "Arms and the Man"; "The Caretaker" by Harold Pinter; and "The Lion in Winter" by James Goldman.

The season will conclude with the East Coast premiere of "I Capture the Castle" by Dodie Smith, famous for her novel "The Hundred and One Dalmatians." Also planned is a production of "The Servant of Two Masters" by Carlo Goldoni on the theater's outdoor stage on the College of St Elizabeth campus in Morris Township.
