Rose Guide: 1st Weekend of the Summer Packed

Summer kicks off in Madison with a few outdoor concerts, baseball tournaments, and a police open house.

There are many events this weekend in Madison, for everyone from music lovers to baseball fans, or even folks who want to be more informed about how their tax dollars are being put to use by the local police department.

For residents who are curious about police procedure, are new to town, or are looking for something interesting to do this Saturday, the open house that the Madison Police Department is running with the Madison P.B.A. Local #92 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. could prove to be an informative and pleasant way to spend the morning and early afternoon on Saturday.

Held at the Madison Public Safety Complex, officers will be providing tours or the new police headquarters, as well as showing new police vehicles and equipment. Officers will also speak about call volumes in town, crime prevention, and crime trends.

Officers will also be available for Child ID kits and child car seat inspections, but besides tours, talks, and inspections the officers will be there to meet and speak with the public that they serve and protect.

Besides the open house, there are, of course, many other options for Madison residents this weekend as well.
